I had previously made electronics to accompany Debussy’s Syrinx being played on alto flute for Laura Lentz, and Syringe’s Air follows as a companion piece to Syrinx:

Finding foresight of a future etymology,
Stealthy Syrinx switched the “x” out for a “g” and “e,”
Bearing ordinary air to plunge in Pan’s red vein,
Bubbles borne amidst the blood thus formed the foul faun’s bane
