Chiaroscuro, for solo harp (2012) – 8'

Chiaroscuro is a virtuoso work for solo harp. It is in three main sections — the first features large chords interspersed with rapid figures; the second is slow and more lyrical; the third is rapid and rhythmic — a quiet coda ends the work. The title is a term for the contrast of light and shade in visual arts, which is reflected in this piece harmonically.
